L’autrice propone un’interpretazione grafica del sito archeologico di Solunto attraverso una lettura digitale per layer concettuali, con l’obiettivo di individuare gli elementi urbani caratterizzanti il sito e definire un ulteriore disegno della città storica. The name derives from the magazine founded in 1917 and used for the promotion of the ideals ofNeoplasticism, theorised by Theo VanDoesburg. La Piazza del Garraffello a Palermo tra iconografia storica e attualità

The proposed contribution is focused on the graphic analysis of an eighteenth-century perspective view portraying one of the most ancient squares of the City of Palermo (piazza Garraffello). It is an engraving print made by F. Cichè in 1711 on commission of the Guild of Silversmiths: the square is completely described with the fountain (still existing) in the foreground, and with the corporate lodges of foreign nations in the background (these two buildings nowadays have disappeared). The project analyzed in this paper by the critical and digital redrawing is the House on Niegolewskiego Street of 1927–28, designed by Barbara Sokołowska for her and her husband, Stanislaw Brukalski, inspired by the Neoplasticism ideas, the paintings of Mondrian and De Stijl. In its details the house seems to recall that one in Utrecht by G.T. Rietveld of 1924, with a very large living room, a studio overlooking a double height and a spiral stair connecting the two floors into one space defined by translated planes and pure volumes.

A virtual reconfiguration of two destroyed neighborhoods in the Old Town of Palermo

The proposed contribution deals with the topic of virtual three-dimensional reconstructions on an urban scale. The choice was oriented on significant samples of city portions that over the centuries have undergone substantial transformations or distortions: the aim is to reconstruct their history backwards, starting from the current survey and using the tools of virtual representation to reconfigure the forms of the past and tell their events. From here comes the idea to create, for pieces, a hypertextual study of the urban image of Palermo: the theme of the transformation of the city, of change and of complexity, opens up differentiated research paths. In 1920s and 1930s, Warsaw was becoming one of the hubs of propagation of the new architecture, thanks to the geographical contiguity with the Weimar Republic, which allowed the formation of young minds aimed at a blending of architecture, art and music.
